Google is reinventing the product that made it one of the richest companies in history: search.

Vox Media has agreed to sell its podcast business and some publishing assets to James Murdoch's investment firm Lupa Systems. The publishing giant has been eyeing opportunities for months to sell its business in pieces, with the hope of reaping greater shareholder value than trying to sell it as a whole. Lupa has agreed to acquire New York Magazine, the Vox Media Podcast Network and the news site Vox from the digital media group Vox Media. Those properties will operate as a subsidiary of Lupa Systems called Vox Media.

Artificial intelligence (AI) promises to find its way into every corner of our digital lives. The headlines focus on ever-bigger models, but the future will be determined by applications built on those models. Who builds those applications—the ones that will reshape medicine, education, software development, and mundane back-end enterprise services—has not yet been decided. Whether future applications will be determined by oligopolists or entrepreneurs depends on who controls the infrastructure those applications need.

The conservative organization Humans First wrote a letter to President Donald Trump urging the President to vet artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to ensure they are safe. "As committed America First leaders...thank you for considering an Executive Order to vet potentially dangerous frontier AI models before they are released," said the letter.

If artificial intelligence (AI) were a candidate for political office, it would be losing in a landslide. The AI hype cycle would have you believe the technology is inevitable. But AI backlash is growing, as people worry it will steal their jobs, jack up electricity rates, and further enrich the wealthy, all while hurting the environment. AI executives aren't doing much to quell the backlash, which is already showing signs of slowing the industry.

The European Commission has preliminarily found Meta's Instagram and Facebook in breach of the Digital Services Act (DSA) for failing to diligently identify, assess and mitigate the risks of minors under 13 years old accessing their services. Despite Meta's own terms and conditions setting the minimum age to access Instagram and Facebook safely at 13, the measures put in place by the company to enforce these restrictions do not seem to be effective.
