Oregon BEAD Plan Gets NIST Approval

The Oregon Broadband Office is pleased to announce that the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment Notice of Award has been signed by both the Oregon Broadband Office and National Institute of Standards and Technology on 4/17/2026. Notice of Award within the context of the National Institute of Standards and Technology is a legal, binding document that formally notifies a recipient that a grant or cooperative agreement has been awarded. It confirms that funds are approved and may be requested for the specified budget period. A new webpage, called the BEAD Community Hub has been created. The idea behind this page is to provide a place to keep track of public facing Frequently Asked Questions, it also will allow for a search for a specific location address. Eventually the map layers will include more contact information for ISPs, visuals of ribbon cutting ceremonies or construction, etc.
