Maine's BEAD Subgrantee Selection Process is Reopen

As a reminder, on June 6, the National Telecommunications Information Administration released a Policy Notice that calls for the restructuring of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program. The program is slated to bring $272 million to Maine to provide high-speed internet to homes and businesses across the State. These mandatory changes require an evolution of the Maine Connectivity Authority’s current program design and process. The Subgrantee Selection Process, including elements such as scoring rubrics, bidding processes, and final proposal development, must be updated to align with NTIA's new requirements. The reopening of Maine's Subgrantee Selection Process is being conducted in compliance with NTIA's Restructuring Policy Notice. After conducting another round of location analysis and updates, MCA will now use BEAD funding to provide service to the remaining 24,000 homes and businesses with slow and unreliable internet. Maine’s Subgrantee Selection Process opens July 10 at 5 pm EDT.
