First Year Accomplishments under Secretary Howard W. Lutnick

In the first year of President Donald J. Trump’s second term, Secretary Lutnick has overseen a total transformation of the Department of Commerce. At the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA):

• $21 billion in taxpayer funds saved by overhauling the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program (BEAD) to connect homes at a fraction of the cost.
• $222 million in savings achieved over 21 contract actions by strengthening oversight of FirstNet project spending.
• 500 megahertz of federal spectrum targeted for full-power commercial use to power American 6G.
