The fight against AI begins, but the telecommunications industry has already given up

To the apparent surprise of Eric Schmidt and AI's other evangelists, the next generation of white-collar workers isn't warmly receptive to the message that AI will replace all white-collar jobs and destroy their prospective livelihoods in the next few years, give or take. Who'd have thought? Not Google's former boss, who told students at the University of Arizona "we stand on the edge of another technological transformation" before downloading an artificial smile that could have been fashioned by ChatGPT while his eardrums were jabbed and poked by thousands of heckles and jeers. Schmidt evidently hadn't learned from the similar experience a few days earlier of Gloria Caulfield, until then a relatively obscure real-estate executive. Her aural flaying was administered by students at the University of Central Florida after she paid tribute to AI as "the next industrial revolution."
