CONX, Charlie Ergen's special-purpose acquisition company, is taking a majority stake in MobileX, Peter Adderton's MVNO that runs on the Verizon mobile network, a recent Federal Communications Commission filing confirms. Under the terms of the agreement detailed in an August 21 transfer of control application filed with the FCC (posted here), an Ergen-owned and controlled unit called CONX Wireless Holdings intends to acquire 60.93% of the equity and voting interests in MobileX, with Adderton holding 19.42% of MobileX's equity and voting interests. Other shareholders will hold the remaining 19.65% of MobileX's equity and voting interests.
