Newark, New Jersey Partnership to Provide Free Internet to Residents for a Decade Plus

A partnership between Newark Fiber, Citizens Bank, and developer Adenah Bayoh will bring up to 15 years of free internet service to residents of a new apartment building in Newark (NJ). Bayoh approached Citizens Bank for funding to create a new apartment building, called Southside View.

The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will convene for a hearing on December 17th at 10 am EST to conduct oversight of the Federal Communications Commission. The last Senate Commerce oversight hearing with all FCC commissioners present was June 24, 2020, under the leadership of Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS).

Chairman Cruz Announces FCC Oversight Hearing

Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, announced a hearing on December 17th to conduct oversight of the Federal Communications Commission. The last Senate Commerce oversight hearing with all FCC commissioners present was June 24, 2020, under the leadership of Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS). The hearing will happen on December 17 at 10 am EST. The witnesses are FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and Commissioners Anna Gomez and Olivia Trusty.
