A group of 23 internet service providers in Texas, backed by the industry group Wireless Internet Service Providers Association, sent a letter to two Senators with concerns about proposed changes to a widely used stretch of shared spectrum featured in the president’s budget bill. The letter notes several concerns about the spectrum policy proposals included in the Senate version of the budget reconciliation bill, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, championed by the Trump administration.

Gov Evers Urges Republican Legislators to Approve High-Speed Internet Budget Investments as Trump Administration Changes Delay Wisconsin Broadband Funding

Washington State Broadband Office Director announces he is stepping down

After nearly a year and a half working as the director of the Washington State Broadband Office, Aaron Wheeler announced he will take on new challenges after June 27. Wheeler was appointed by Gov Jay Inslee in March 2024. Under his leadership, the office completed two rounds of Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment applications. WSBO was about to open the third and final application round when new federal guidance was released, initiating a significant shift in the state’s BEAD process.
