SpaceX's plan to build space-based data centers comprising up to 1 million low-Earth orbit satellites leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

Major U.S. carriers have thus far seen reasonable growth in fixed wireless access gross additions, but the analysts at New Street Research said a plateau is incoming. The firm’s latest broadband trends report found residential FWA gross adds increased about 24 percent year-over-year in Q4 2025. But gross adds were “sequentially flat” compared to the 33 percent growth in the prior quarter.

AT&T said the company will spend more than $250 billion in the next five years to build out its infrastructure in the U.S., setting up the company to more than double its annual investment in a battle for subscribers with its two largest competitors. The investments will focus on high-speed fiber connections and expanding wireless and satellite coverage. The company said its networks are “critical conduits” for fields where major tech companies are investing heavily, including artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Infiltrating phone apps has become an increasingly common practice, both for propaganda and surveillance. Hacking a phone app can be more effective than trying to tap into a computer, according to Nicholas Reese, former director of emerging technology policy at the Department of Homeland Security. People generally store more personal information on their phones, often without realizing it. Accessing a computer typically requires infiltrating popular cloud services, which have sophisticated and standardized security protections.
