The Federal Communications Commission's Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) denied Mediacom Wireless of Florida LLC and Mediacom Wireless of Georgia LLC’s (collectively, Mediacom) request for waiver of the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) requirement to certify that they offered service to 40% of the Connect America Cost Model (CAM)-estimated number of locations by December 31, 2025 and/or an extension of the service milestone until June 30, 2026 to complete deployment to 40% of the required number of locations.

BEAD plans to see what changes were made during the approval process.

Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program draft final proposals continue to pour in as each state prepares to submit its final plans to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Each state is deciding how to connect its un- and underserved locations in what is called the Benefit of the Bargain application round. Today's edition of this series covers ten more states' draft final proposals.

Georgia has drafted its final proposal for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. The Georgia Technology Authority is seeking public comments before submitting the proposal to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Submit comments by 11:59 p.m. on September 1, 2025. GTA is attempting to connect 119,500 locations; the state's BEAD allocation is 

$ 1,307,214,371.
