Wisconsin Governor's Task Force on Broadband Access 2026

The sixth report of the Governor’s Task Force on Broadband Access highlights the successful progress of Wisconsin’s broadband expansion journey over the years. Thanks to Governor Evers’ leadership, more than 410,000 Wisconsin homes and businesses will have access to new or improved high-speed service. With the one-year anniversary of federal changes to the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment program, Wisconsin was able to successfully secure the National Telecommunication and Information Administration approval to award $697 million of its $1.1 billion allocation to connect 175,000 households and businesses lacking high-speed broadband access. The Public Service Commission has also opened the application process for the 2026 Broadband Expansion Grant program that makes $60 million in state funding available to fill in gaps for an estimated 31,000 locations left behind by BEAD.
