OPPORTUNITIES SEEN FOR RURAL AMERICA

Thomas Dorr, U.S. Agriculture Department undersecretary for rural development, predicts a bright future for rural America if it can take advantage of three things: broadband Internet, $100-a-barrel oil and expanding capitalism in Europe and Asia. He said expanding broadband means companies can operate from almost anywhere, while rising oil prices will increase demand for crops used for biofuel.
