GUMBO 1.0 program tops $100 Million in infrastructure payments, moving Louisiana closer to the broadband finish line

Louisiana has crossed the $100 million mark in GUMBO 1.0 infrastructure payments—a major milestone in the state's broader effort to achieve full statewide broadband coverage by 2028, two years ahead of the federal goal. Funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Capital Projects Fund, ConnectLA has distributed $102,308,955 to participating internet service providers, representing 83.9 percent of total GUMBO 1.0 awards. In keeping with its commitment to transparency, the office tracks every dollar through detailed program reporting, ensuring taxpayers can see exactly how their investment is being put to work. Through these investments, more than 49,000 locations have been or will be served, including 41,468 households, 7,601 businesses, and 57 community anchor institutions. Notably, 61.9% of payments have gone directly to Louisiana-based companies—a reflection of the state's dedication to keeping broadband dollars working for Louisiana. GUMBO 1.0 is designed to help more Louisianans get reliable, high-speed internet and make it easier to use. Through projects with providers and partners, the program is a cornerstone of ConnectLA's mission to close the digital divide — and Louisiana is closer than ever to delivering on that promise for every community in the state.
