We are continuing the Federal Communications Commission's push for more builds, more spectrum, and more out of our public safety and consumer protection rules. First up—permitting reform. For too long, outdated and unnecessary environmental rules have slowed America’s builders down. This has left communities stuck and waiting on the wrong side of the digital divide. That is why we will be voting this month on an order that overhauls the FCC’s approach to NEPA. Second, we are making way for more spectrum that can be used for faster broadband from space.

I am pleased that Hunter Deeley has agreed to step up and lead the exceptional and dedicated Enforcement Bureau team. I’m confident that under his leadership the team will continue to deliver great wins for the American people from robocall enforcement to rooting out fraud to national security administration. I’d like to thank Patrick Webre for his outstanding service in this role and I’m pleased that he will continue to serve the Commission in a senior role in the Office of Managing Director.

I want to congratulate Danielle on her nomination to serve as a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission. Danielle is a dedicated public servant and has worked with skill and distinction on some of the most important matters before the agency. Danielle has delivered policy wins across the FCC’s economic agenda—from bridging the digital divide and protecting consumers to advancing public safety. With the advice and consent of the Senate, Danielle would make a terrific Commissioner.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr highlighted some key wins under his “Build America Agenda” since it was first launched last July in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As outlined last July, the agency’s Build America Agenda is centered on actions that unleash fast and affordable services for American families and businesses.

It is my pleasure to present the Fiscal Year 2026–2030 Strategic Plan for the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC has important work ahead which will focus on our Build America Agenda: unleashing high-speed infrastructure builds, restoring America’s leadership in wireless, boosting the U.S. space economy, advancing national security and public safety, protecting consumers and free speech, and being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. The FCC also remains resolute in prioritizing and advancing the Build America Agenda as supported by these four Goals.

At the Federal Communications Commission, we’re celebrating 250 years of American independence by charting a course to ensure America’s leadership well into the future. With a packed agenda for our July 22 Open Meeting, we’re announcing a big new spectrum auction, supercharging our Space Bureau efforts, protecting consumers, and strengthening our national security. First up, we will vote on an order that adopts rules for the auction of 160 MHz of prime, mid-band spectrum in the Upper C-Band.

“Today’s appellate court decision is another common-sense win for nondiscrimination. Back in 2023, I dissented from the Biden FCC’s decision to adopt sweeping and unlawful ‘digital equity’ rules. Those regulations would have required broadband providers and many other businesses to discriminate against people based on their race, gender, or other protected characteristics. As I said at the time, the FCC’s decision to adopt those illegal rules only made it harder for providers to bridge the digital divide and took the FCC’s focus off of our core mission.
