Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the US military will begin integrating Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence tool, Grok, into Pentagon networks. The defense secretary said that the integration of Grok into military systems would go live later in January. “Very soon we will have the world’s leading AI models on every unclassified and classified network throughout our department,” Sec Hegseth said.

Starlink can now deploy more satellites—here’s what analysts think

SpaceX’s Starlink is gearing up to deploy another 7,500 satellites thanks to the Federal Communications Commission authorization. But the move is less about expanding coverage than it is about improving latency and network reliability, said some analysts. Per the FCC’s announcement, SpaceX will be allowed to operate across the Ku-, Ka-, V-, E- and W-band frequencies, supporting both fixed satellite service and mobile satellite service.

GigaBeam Networks RDOF Progress Report for Virginia

GigaBeam Networks notified the Federal Communications Commission that it does not believe it can meet its third-year 40 percent deployment milestone for its Rural Digital Opportunity Fund obligations in West Virginia (Study Area Code 209042). GigaBeam believes it has deployed service to approximately 23 percent of broadband serviceable locations in the SAC as of December 31, 2025.

TekWave RDOF Progress Report for Texas

Texoma Communications notified the Federal Communications Commission that it did not meet the December 31, 2025, interim milestone for its Texas Rural Digital Opportunity Fund deployment (Study Area Code 449099). Texoma was required to have deployed service to 40 percent of the locations in the Study Area Code by December 31, 2025. When Texoma began planning and engineering for participating in the RDOF Auction, it had assurances from banks and private investors that it would be able to borrow the money to pair with its RDOF award to meet its obligation.
