CBRS alliance: All the reasons relocation is a stupid idea

Once again, there’s a lot of talk in the wireless industry about what constitutes the fourth biggest wireless competitor in the U.S. after Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T. Is it EchoStar's Boost Mobile wireless entity, cable, or something else entirely? According to the OnGo Alliance, it’s that last bucket, which is served by Citizens Broadband Radio Service, that constitutes the fourth entity powering more than 420,000 wireless radios from all walks of life.

Santa Barbara County completes broadband plans for 9 rural communities

High-speed internet could soon reach some of Santa Barbara County’s most rural communities, but local leaders say construction hinges on delayed state funding. The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments, in partnership with the County of Santa Barbara, has completed engineering designs and a countywide environmental review for broadband expansion in nine underserved communities. The work was funded by a $1 million Local Agency Technical Assistance grant awarded by the California Public Utilities Commission in 2023.

Mercury Rural Digital Opportunity Fund Support Recovery Waiver Denial Order

The Federal Communications Commission's Wireline Competition Bureau denied Mercury Wireless Indiana, Mercury Wireless Kansas, and Mercury Broadband’s (collectively Mercury) request for waiver of the Commission’s rules, which governs the recovery of Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) support when recipients do not fulfill the program’s buildout requirements. The Bureau finds that Mercury did not demonstrate that good cause supports reducing the required support recovery for Mercury’s RDOF defaults in Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio. Mercury originated in Kansas and
