Oklahoma Broadband Office Celebrates First Completed Expansion Projects
High-speed internet expansion is coming to fruition in Oklahoma. Two broadband expansion projects administered by the Oklahoma Broadband Office and funded through the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund have officially closed out, bringing new high-speed internet access to residents and businesses in Washita and Greer (OK) counties. The projects, completed by Dobson Fiber, are delivering reliable, fiber-optic internet service to 366 locations in and around Burns Flat and Granite.
Broadband Expansion Projects Launched in Northeastern Oklahoma
Two projects totaling $5.4 million for high-speed internet expansion in northeastern Oklahoma were officially launched in Craig County (OK) by the Oklahoma Broadband Office and internet service provider The Junction Internet. The projects, funded through $2.7 million in federal grants administered by the OBO coupled with $2.7 million in matching contributions from Junction, will connect 337 homes and businesses with broadband internet using fixed wireless technology.
Oklahoma BEAD Grant Program Final Proposal
The Oklahoma Broadband Office released the Oklahoma Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Grant Program Final Proposal on August 25 for public comment due by September 1, 2025, at 11:59 pm. The final proposal includes $550 million in funding to 20 internet service providers to cover 34,000 locations in the state. 65 percent of locations will be served by fiber, while 20 percent will be served by fixed wireless, and 15 will be served by low-Earth orbit satellite.

Five grant projects totaling $11.4 million for high-speed internet expansion were officially launched in Latimer County by the Oklahoma Broadband Office and AT&T Oklahoma. The projects, funded through federal grants administered by the OBO coupled with additional funding from AT&T, will connect 2,760 homes and businesses with broadband internet using fiber optic technology.

Eight projects totaling $17.3 million for high-speed internet expansion were officially launched by the Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) and Dobson Fiber. The projects, funded through $11.6 million in federal grants administered by the OBO coupled with $5.7 million in matching funds from Dobson Fiber, will connect 1,829 homes and businesses with broadband internet using fiber optic technology. The award from ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) was made earlier this year by the Oklahoma Broadband Governing Board.
