Will library have money to buy books?
Coweta County Library Board members -- at their quarterly board meeting -- expressed concern about county funding for the purchase of books during the next fiscal year.
Discussion of the issue came during a review of the Coweta County Library System's financial situation at the Grantville Public Library.
Board chairman Lillie Smith and members Ed Adams, Jeff Fisher, Robert Ward and Jennie Williams were present for the meeting. During the financial discussion, Barbara Osborne-Harris, director of the library system, said the libraries in the past have been able to use fines and fees to purchase books and other materials. That will not be allowed in the upcoming fiscal year.
