USTelecom President and CEO Walter B. McCormick Jr. announced that he plans to resign at the end of 2016. In a letter to the board of directors, he asked Board Chairman Robert Hunt to make 2016 a year of succession planning for the association with the goal of hiring a new president to begin in January 2017. In his letter, McCormick said his successor would have much to build upon, noting US Telecom’s broad, diverse membership made up of broadband service providers -- companies large and small, urban and rural, publicly-traded, privately-held and cooperatively-owned.
