Takedown: Apple invokes the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
Mordy Tikotzky's Apple-Tracker.com steered customers to the Apple Stores in or near their Zip Code most likely to have the newest iPhones and iPads in stock. It also offered Apple watchers a rare window into how the company handles the delicate balance of supply and demand. Well, it was fun while it lasted, as Tikotzky told visitors: “I've decided to turn off the site. I'm not doing this because I want to, but rather because I received a DMCA takedown notice from Apple. I'm not really interested in picking a fight with apple so..... I guess it time to just say good bye.” In its cease and desist notice, Apple's attorneys invoked the 1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
