More than 100 Philadelphia school-aged children this summer will gain a better understanding of the media that dominates their daily lives. Through Powerful Voices for Kids, a media literacy and technology integration program housed at Russell Byers Charter School, developed in collaboration with the Media Education Lab at Temple University's School of Communications and Theater, the children will learn about journalism, advertising, video production, celebrity marketing and web design, all in an effort to strengthen their critical thinking and communication skills. They will use the tools of language, image and sound to express and share ideas.
