The Obama administration on June 25 plans to release the latest draft of its strategy for identification and authentication in cyberspace, Howard Schmidt, White House cybersecurity coordinator, said. The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, which is expected to recommend changes to privacy laws and set policies for verifying identities during online transactions, will be open for public comment with an aim toward getting Obama's final approval in the fall, Schmidt said.
