Making AI Work: Productivity, Diffusion, and Policy

Emerging empirical research provides evidence that artificial intelligence (AI) is generating meaningful productivity gains. However, similar to previous waves of digital technology, these gains appear uneven across firms and countries. This raises many policy questions, including why these productivity gaps are emerging and what can be done to ensure effective diffusion and broad-based growth. Potential explanations include skill mismatches, limited access to compute and data, and constraints in existing infrastructure such as the power grid.

Georgetown on the Hill: Discussions on AI will explore these policy issues through a moderated panel discussion featuring world leading academics, industry experts, and policymakers from LinkedIn, Harvard, Amazon, and more.

Cocktail reception and networking to follow the panel discussion!
