Virtual Event

Join AARP California for a conversation with   experts on broadband access, also known as high speed internet access. During this virtual event you will learn key jargon and technology terms related to internet access, where the state currently is with internet access and where there are areas for improvement, and how you can take action in your community to help bring about digital equity.

Why focus on access to high speed interent? From online lifelong learning to telehealth, high speed internet access has become essential for all. Both rural and urban communities throughout the country face many challenges to bridging the digital divide and connecting older adults. AARP fought hard for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which resulted in $14.2 billion for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The federal FCC benefit program provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward Internet service to help ensure households can use high speed interent for work, education, healthcare, and more.
