Please join us for the Annual Rural Telecommunication Congress (RTC) Conference, which has become a major meeting venue for policymakers, economic and community development, telecommunication industry personnel, higher education, public safety, healthcare, international trade, and government representatives who want to learn from leading practitioners and researchers around the country.

The 2008 Rural Telecon Conference will highlight innovative approaches to building local capacity to improve the quality of life. It will provide avenues and opportunities for broadband in the global arena. Specifically, it will highlight proven strategies that have resulted in the deployment of broadband services into rural communities and will provide practical guidance on how to capture the promise of broadband.

Speakers: Rural Telecon ’08 will bring industry leaders to speak on the theme topics of broadband and global markets, as well as representatives of national and international organizations that invest in rural broadband initiatives.

Social Interaction: The RTC Board is aware of the importance of interfacing with other conference participants and the schedule reflects many opportunities, e.g. the reception, meals, and even a Lake Champlain cruise.

Conference Location: Join us at the renowned Smugglers’ Notch Resort nestled in the heart of over 3,000 acres of pristine forest, spectacular mountain vistas and the serenity of clear, rushing streams. When you arrive, the Green Mountains of Vermont will be vibrant with spectrums of gold and red as a prelude to Vermont’s winter wonderland. Accommodations are comfortable, and include fully equipped kitchen facilities, most with air conditioning, fireplaces, and balconies with mountain or woodland views. Bring your family along and enjoy the amenities of this Resort: dining and shopping, pool facilities, hiking trails, and children programs.
