Benton Institute for Broadband & Society Congratulates Olivia Trusty on Her Confirmation

Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed Olivia Trusty to be a Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission. The following statement may be attributed to Benton Institute for Broadband & Society Executive Director Dr. Revati Prasad:

"With so much to do to ensure competition, innovation and investment in broadband services and facilities in the U.S., we welcome Olivia Trusty's confirmation and we look forward to working with her on an agenda that delivers fast, reliable, open internet access to everyone.

"Just as importantly, we look forward to President Trump and the Senate working expeditiously to fill the remaining open seats at the FCC."

The Benton Institute for Broadband & Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that all people in the U.S. have access to competitive, High-Performance Broadband regardless of where they live or who they are. We believe communication policy - rooted in the values of access, equity, and diversity - has the power to deliver new opportunities and strengthen communities.
