Benton Disappointed in SCOTUS Order in Media Ownership Case

On October 2, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court granted writs of certiorari in FCC, et al v. Prometheus Radio Project, et al. The Court will hear oral arguments in the case. The following statement may be attributed to Benton Institute Senior Counselor Andrew Jay Schwartzman.

Of course, we are disappointed at this additional delay.  But we are confident the court will see that the FCC has failed to obey its mandate to promote diversity in media voices.

The Benton Institute for Broadband & Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that all people in the U.S. have access to competitive, High-Performance Broadband regardless of where they live or who they are. We believe communication policy - rooted in the values of access, equity, and diversity - has the power to deliver new opportunities and strengthen communities.
