The FCC’s senior Democrat to discuss will share her views and priorities for 2020 and beyond during a conversation with ACA Connects Chairman Patty Boyers. An expert on spectrum policy and emerging broadband technologies, as well as a tireless advocate on consumer and public safety issues, Commissioner Rosenworcel will provide invaluable insights into the regulatory environment.
AT&T's mandatory-arbitration clause is unenforceable in a class-action case over AT&T's throttling of unlimited data, a panel of US appeals court judges ruled. The nearly five-year-old case has gone through twists and turns, with AT&T's forced-arbitration clause initially being upheld in March 2016.
The persistent problem of the digital divide is hardening into a state of “Internet Inequality.” We know that millions of Virginians still lack access to high-quality affordable broadband. But, because of flaws in how the Federal Communications Commission collects its broadband data, we don’t actually know where they all are. That’s a cause for concern, and I am pleased that our friends in Congress sitting here today are also working to require the FCC to secure reliable broadband deployment data. For too long, the FCC has subsidized networks that are obsolete by the time they are built.
