This day-long summit will bring together critical stakeholders in Louisiana from the U.S., state, and local governments, the community, tribal communities, and other key partners to discuss coordination on broadband efforts as the state prepares to receive significant broadband funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Fiber Broadband Association's Regional Fiber Connect Workshops cover a range of topics to help local providers deploy fiber in their communities, including research, brand positioning, building community support, lessons learned from experienced operators, funding options and more.

At the September 15th meeting, the Technological Advisory Council will continue to consider and advise the Federal Communications Commission on topics such as 6G, artificial intelligence, advanced spectrum sharing technologies, and emerging wireless technologies, including new tools to restore internet access during shutdowns and other disruptions. This agenda may be modified at the discretion of the TAC Chair and the Designated Federal Officer (DFO).

The National Urban League will host a webinar for its affiliates and partners about the historic broadband funding that will be made available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). This webinar will feature representatives from NTIA, the FCC, the public interest community, and industry and will help our Urban League movement learn about how to get involved in state broadband planning, opportunities for Affordable Connectivity Program outreach, and advocacy strategies for closing the digital divide.

Presented by USDA Rural Development’s Rural Utilities Service, this webinar will provide an overview of the ReConnect Program, highlight resources and key considerations for tribal applicants, and allow ample time for questions and answers.

• A brief overview of the round 4 Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)
• Key considerations for Tribal applicants
• Extended question and answer period

The WiFi installation is a huge milestone for both you and your subscribers. For you, it marks the beginning of a long and—hopefully prosperous—partnership. For your subscribers, the install serves as the foundation of their experience—including the quality of WiFi. But as essential as these installations are, too many ISPs fail to get them right. In fact, recent data shows that over 50% of ISP leaders are only somewhat confident—or less so—that subscribers will have a great WiFi experience after a tech leaves.

The webinar will explore:

Long before the pandemic highlighted and expanded the gulf in internet access between served and unserved or underserved communities, churches diligently worked to identify the need to connect members of their communities to the internet and sought to provide that connection.  For instance, churches have long provided educational opportunities for adults, and with the advent of the digital era, they quickly realized that computers were necessary to serve this goal.

A public forum regarding the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) on commercial surveillance and data security practices that harm consumers and competition. The public forum will include panel discussions and the public is invited to provide remarks.
