- Transforming the 2.5 GHz Band for 5G – The Commission will consider a Report and Order that would allow for more efficient and effective use of 2.5 GHz spectrum by increasing flexibility for existing Educational Broadband Service licensees and providing new opportunities for rural Tribal Nations and other entities to access unused portions of the band. In March, the FCC issued a Report and Order, and Order on Reconsideration that removed some of the regulatory barriers hindering the deployment of TV white spaces (TVWS) technology.
