Virtual Event

Join NTIA for a series of virtual listening sessions starting in December 2021 focused on the new broadband grant programs authorized and funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program; the Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program; and the Digital Equity Act Programs, which include the State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program, State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program, and Digital Equity Competitive Grant Program, and additional funding for the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program.  These public virtual listening sessions are designed to collect stakeholder input to help inform program development and implementation.

These listening sessions will be hosted via NTIA’s virtual platform and conducted as a live public listening session.

NTIA will provide an opportunity for attendees to provide live feedback on the following policy questions:

  1. What criteria should subgrantees be required to meet to demonstrate that they are financially, technically, and operationally capable of deploying and operating broadband network infrastructure pursuant to the BEAD program?
  2. How should NTIA define the term “eligible subscriber” for purposes of the BEAD program’s low-cost broadband service option requirement?
  3. To what extent should BEAD funding be utilized to fund deployment of middle-mile infrastructure?
  4. What processes and requirements should NTIA put in place to ensure transparency, accountability, and oversight of BEAD funding?

NTIA will post the registration information on its BroadbandUSA website at https://broadbandusa.ntia.doc.gov/events/latest-events.
