GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is heading to the Bay Area for a trio of fundraising events on July 22, a day before President Obama arrives for his own fundraising swing in Northern California.

The first event on Romney’s schedule is a luncheon at the Woodside home of Tom Siebel, the founder of software company Siebel Systems. Meg Whitman, chief executive of Hewlett-Packard and former GOP gubernatorial candidate, is listed as a host for all three of the Romney events, along with her husband, Griff Harsh. After the luncheon at Siebel’s home, the former governor will head to an event at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco and a $50,000-per-head private dinner event in the tony Pacific Heights neighborhood.
