A group of News Corp shareholders said in an amended lawsuit that misdeeds at two of the media giant's U.S. subsidiaries, dating back more than a decade, show that the News Corp. board has long known of "widespread misconduct" inside the company.

The latest allegations seek to bolster claims made by shareholders, led by Amalgamated Bank and pension funds, that insufficient oversight by News Corp.'s board have battered the company's reputation and stock price, and that Chairman Rupert Murdoch has used the media giant as "his own personal fiefdom." The latest filing focuses on the company's in-store marketing business News America Marketing and its smart-card unit NDS Group., which face allegations of anticompetitive behavior.
