FCC Chairman Wheeler's Response to Senator Casey and Senator Toomey Regarding Proposed Acquisition of Time Warner Cable by Comcast

On December 11, 2014, Sens Bob Casey (D-PA) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) sent a letter to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler, urging the FCC to approve the proposed Comcast-Time Warner Cable merger.

On January 20, 2015, Chairman Wheeler responded by saying, "The Commission recently restarted the informal clock and re-established the pleading cycle in the review process after a brief delay. Replies to Opposition were due December 23, 2014. We continue to receive information from the parties to the transaction, as well as other interested stakeholders. I can assure you that the Commission is conducting an open and transparent process as we review the issues presented by the proposed transaction."
