The program will feature Richard Welch and Jacob Lewis from the FCC General Counsel’s Office, who will discuss major decisions from the past year affecting the FCC and the communications industries.

7:20 – 8:15 p.m. FTC v. AT&T Mobility – Redefining Jurisdictional Boundaries Between the FCC and the FTC

Panelists will discuss the Ninth Circuit’s August 2016 decision that common carriers are exempt from the FTC’s jurisdiction even when they are engaged in non-common carrier activities. The will also highlight the issues central to the Court’s upcoming en banc review in the case.
