A recent Mobile Beacon report analyzing mobile broadband usage by non-profit organizations, including schools, finds that schools utilizing Mobile Beacon’s 4G LTE internet service indicate that the ability to supplement and/or extend existing school networks is the greatest benefit of the service.
Extending broadband's reach to every American community has been a vexing problem for policymakers for years. Today, the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition offers research we believe will contribute to finding a solution.
The Federal Communications Commission concluded in a recent report that broadband is being deployed to all Americans in a reasonable and timely fashion, but there’s more work to be done. On the latter point, there’s widespread agreement.

Why do Internet service providers (ISPs) merchandise numerous broadband plans and target different consumer groups? Can there be too many or too few options? Broadband offerings might eventually become too complex, varying in down- and up-load speeds, contract duration, price structure, technology, and the bundling of services.
