Connect Americans Now (CAN) sent a letter to Congressional leaders, co-signed by 42 organizations, representing leaders in agriculture, education, digital and housing equity, health care, technology, veterans issues and more, highlighting the urgency for solutions to close the broadband gap and calling for lawmakers to swiftly pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and advance additional permanent solutions to permanently eliminate the digital divide.

Connect Americans Now (CAN) filed comments Oct 20 with the Federal Communications Commission, co-signed by 41 companies and organizations, in support of a Report and Order to update rules regarding TV white space (TVWS) technology — a critical solution that can help expand the pace, scale and cost-effectiveness of hybrid-network broadband deployments. The full FCC will vote on the Report and Order, introduced earlier this month by Chairman Pai, on Oct 27.

Connect Americans Now: New Coalition Aims to Eliminate the Digital Divide in Rural America

Rallying around a plan to eliminate the digital divide by 2022, a diverse group of community leaders, rural advocates and top innovators announced the national launch of Connect Americans Now. The new alliance will work with the Federal Communications Commission and other policymakers to ensure that there is sufficient unlicensed low band spectrum in every market in the country to enable broadband connectivity.
