Questions to ask the organization itself:
(The following questions are based on a set of questions developed by the Technology Providers Consortium to gather information on technical assistance providers nationwide. Thanks to Jennifer Beckett of CompuMentor for providing them.)

  1. What types of technology services does your organization provide (e.g. application training, mentoring, web based services, etc.)?
  2. What percentage or proportion of your services are dedicated to technology?
  3. Do you deliver these services through the internet, in your offices, or in the field?
  4. Do you work in partnership with other organizations or programs to deliver your technology services?
  5. Do you rely primarily on staff, consultants, or volunteers for administering your technology services?
  6. What led you to develop your technology services?
  7. Which nonprofit technology needs do you feel that your technology programs are adequately addressing in your area? What elements are most successful? Where are the gaps in services?
  8. How many people and organizations do you serve each year on technology issues?
  9. What types of services are including when estimating these numbers?
  10. What geographic community do you serve primarily in technology?
  11. Is there a type of nonprofit that you serve more frequently?
  12. What is your organization's annual budget?
  13. What is your annual technology budget?

Questions to ask nonprofits and others who know the organization's work:
  1. What services is this organization best known for?
  2. What types of nonprofits do you see this organization serving?
    • What is the typical size and budget they cater to?
    • Do they tend to serve nonprofits with a particular type of mission?
    • Do they serve nonprofits from a particular area?
  3. How is this organization most helpful to nonprofits? What needs does it fill?
  4. Does the organization deliver what it promises?
  5. Are this organization's services affordable?
  6. Is its assistance timely?
  7. To whom would you recommend this organization? How would you qualify your recommendation?
