Partners in Public Service (PIPS), a national initiative spearheaded by Penn State University and funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), documented the stories of eight collaborations between public television stations and community organizations, including museums, libraries and historical societies. The result of this year-long project is a better understanding of how public service organizations can work in tandem to reach wider audiences, promote diverse voices and ideas and increase the quality of services provided.
In order to share this information with other interested organizations, the Benton Foundation worked alongside Penn State to create a comprehensive partnership toolkit. Included are overviews of each of the PIPS projects, a report on their partnership experiences and a collection of articles, templates and checklists.
