Yahoo's Buzz Index is monitoring interest in each of presidential primaries and caucuses to date. And while the index had proven more reliable than some polls in early states - foreseeing a comeback by Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire based on an increase in searches among the state’s women, for example, it was less prescient on Super Tuesday, when more than 20 states held primaries. “What we’ve learned is that search spikes are not a predictor of who will win,” said Richard Kosinski, vp of political advertising, Yahoo. “But people are going online searching for information on candidates and using the Internet to assist in their decisions.”
