The Senate passed its version of Fiscal Year 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education (Labor-HHS) appropriations bill, which provides funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The vote was 75 to 19. The bill provides CPB a $420 million advance appropriation for FY 2010 as well as $29.7 million for digital conversion, $26.75 million for the public radio interconnection and $25.2 million for Ready To Learn for FY 2008. The U.S. House of Representatives passed a similar version in July. The House and Senate will now work on a final version of the bill.
