REHR: DON'T DO AWAY WITH LPFM PROTECTION

In a letter addressed to Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), National Association of Broadcasters CEO David Rehr is urging lawmakers not to pass the Local Community Radio Act of 2007, which would exempt low-power FMs from third adjacent channel protection requirements. He said the bill is based on the results of a "flawed study" that understated the amount of interference LPFMs would cause to full-power stations.
