NEXT FCC MEETING: SEPT 11
[SOURCE: Multichannel News, AUTHOR: Ted Hearn]
The Federal Communications Commission plans to hold its next public meeting on Sept. 11, the first time in six years that the agency has done so on the same day as the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. No meeting agenda has been released; expect one on Tuesday Sept 4. The FCC is facing an Oct. 5 deadline to extend the cable program access rules. Among other things, those rules require cable operators to sell their satellite-delivered networks to other pay-TV providers.
