FCC Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate urged New York state's broadcasters to consider the impact of violent programming, help combat childhood obesity, and put more minorities and women in important jobs. She asked the broadcasters to remember "the incredible power of the media" and reminded them that the FCC is under near-constant pressure from some members of Congress to step up its regulation of television and radio airwaves.
