ROCKEFELLER BILL STALLED BY COURT RULING
[SOURCE: Multichannel News, AUTHOR: Ted Hearn]
Sen. John D. (Jay) Rockefeller (D- WV) will not be introducing television violence legislation in advance of a June 26 Senate Commerce Committee hearing on ways to curb violent content on cable and broadcast TV. Sen Rockefeller needs additional time to finalize the bill because of the June 4 federal appeals ruling that struck down the FCC’s new policy of punishing the fleeting use of the “S-word” and “F-word” on broadband television.
