CTIA Weighs In on Broadband and Public Safety

In response to the Federal Communications Commission's inquiries about the development of Next Generation 911 ("NG911") systems, CTIA, the lobbying arm of the wireless industry, urges the FCC to engage in a technology neutral and consensus-driven approach that will involve all stakeholders. Also, CTIA reminds the FCC that significant funding challenges exist for public safety answering points that are currently slowing the deployment of E911 and must be resolved to ensure a successful NG911 build-out. Regarding cyber security, CTIA details some of the dynamic means of network management that wireless carriers utilize to protect their subscribers from cyber attacks.
