ONLY 18% OF WILMINGTON VIEWERS AWARE OF EARLY ANALOG SHUT-OFF
The National Association of Broadcasters polled 501 households in the Wilmington (NC) television market and found that 89 percent are aware that there is going to be a digital TV transition. The bad news is that only 18% of the viewers are aware that the date is September 8, 2008. The FCC has launched a campaign to inform Wilmington viewers including radio spots cut by FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and Commissioner Michael Adelstein, and billboards in prominent locations.
