AFTER 84 YEARS, WNYC CUTS A CORD WITH NEW YORK CITY AS IT MOVES

After 84 years of broadcasting from the Municipal Building, WNYC, the public radio station with the largest audience in the country, is packing up and moving out. Some of its 189 staff members have already made the switch to their new quarters, covering two and a half floors on Varick Street, a couple of blocks north of the Holland Tunnel.
