[Commentary] In March 4 testimony to the Economic Matters Committee of the Maryland House of Delegates about whether broadband companies should disclose to consumers where their services are deployed and where they aren't, Comcast lobbyist Sean M. Looney said consumers can't be given information about broadband in their neighborhoods because of… 9/11. He told the Committee that “9/11 wasn't that long ago. We don't want to make it easier for them to take out the network.” He added that the legislation requiring fuller disclosure of network deployment could point to where vital public safety resources are, particularly in the wireless network.
