It has been almost one year since the Obama Administration presented a strategy for expanding the availability and adoption of broadband Internet access nationwide. In directing the Administration to create the national broadband plan, Congress insisted that the plan specifically address "national purposes"----job creation and economic growth, consumer welfare, civic participation, public safety and homeland security, health care, energy independence and efficiency, and other issues. ITIF is pleased to reunite the national purposes team from the Federal Communications Commission. Join them for an update on the achievement of these national purposes after what has been an eventful year for Internet policy action and debate.
